Course schedule as follows
~ 12th April ~
Humayans Thomb
Four fold Jali Screen
Participants will learn how to draw this neat four fold Jali Screen within arch found carved into the 16th Century Thomb located in Delhi. This was a tricky pattern which took me approximately 40 hours to decipher. The innermost pattern is based on the square circulated by spinning eight-pointed stars. The original work was created through openwork carving, a subtractive sculptural process. The remaining stone forms the jali's design, while the negative space naturally creates supplemental patterns.
